ASSISTED LIVING

Our basic Assisted Living Plan includes assistance with activities of daily living such as clothes selection, reminding & monitoring, grooming needs, bathing, medication management, 3 nutritious meals, snacks, laundry, linen and housekeeping services. We also encourage all of our residents to participate in our various daily activities. We will assist the resident in any way necessary to help them remain as independent as possible while providing care with dignity and respect.

RESPITE CARE

As a caregiver, do you need a break? a weekend away?, even a week or two?

Laurel Park West offers a wonderfully designed program for short stays. Our Respite Care includes a care plan specific to the individual needs of the resident regardless of the length stay. A large private room and our basic services which are 3 home cooked meals daily, nutritious snacks/beverages, assistance with Activities of Daily Living (oral care, grooming needs and any other necessary hygiene issues) medication management, a rich activity program, housekeeping, laundry and linen services. We will also assist with Incontinence Care, Wheelchair Assistance, Alzheimer's and Dementia Care, and many other additional services that can be discussed at the time of interest. We encourage you to visit our facility and have lunch or dinner to experience for yourself what a pleasant place it is to be!

ADULT DAYCARE

Laurel Park West offers a unique alternative to homecare or assist caregivers from becoming “burned out” from the stresses of caring for a loved one that needs a supervised environment. Our program is very affordable and is a wonderful experience for a couple of hours or for the entire day. For 9 hours it is only $55.00. This includes 2 or 3 meals depending on your time of arrival, medication dispensing, and all activities. We are sure that you will be pleased with all that we have to offer. We can also accommodate for half day stay for only $32.00.

OPTIONAL SERVICES

Laurel Park West offers a variety of optional services that can be used long term or short term depending on the type of services needed.

Alzheimer's & Dementia Care

Laurel Park West offers specialized care for those suffering form Alzheimer's or dementia. This care includes a specialized activities program that stimulates and encourages independence. We also offer a higher resident to staffing ratio to better serve the ever changing needs of the residents. Our resident care plans are specifically designed to meet the individual needs as well as unsure safety and well being.  Alzheimer's and dementia residents often feel compelled to wander. Laurel Park West offers a Wander Guard bracelet as an option to safeguard against a resident trying to leave our facility. It is optional, but is recommended in some cases so that the resident can feel free to wander the floors but not be at risk of leaving the building.

Incontinence Care

This is a sensitive issue which requires care in respect to the residents’ dignity and independence while ensuring that the needs are met.

Our incontinence care program consists of a toileting schedule that is based on the individuals needs. Our program also consists of incontinence products checks and changing. We have all of our residents on a schedule. This schedule assists us as well as the residents to be sure that they are kept clean and dry at all times and remain as independent as possible based on their abilities. We can provide the products (diapers & wipes) at an additional cost billed directly to you from our very affordable contact or you can provide us with the necessary items on a regular basis as needed.

Wheelchair and Mobility Assistance

We can provide as much or as little assistance as needed in this area. Our basic program consists of assisting to and from the bathroom, assistance in and out of bed, transfer to the dining room for meals and to all activities. These transfers can be either with a wheelchair, walker assistance with walking when indicated. Our goal is to keep our residents as independent as possible while offering assistance as needed. We can provide these services for long term care or for short times when needed.

Onsite Health Care Professionals

We have visiting physicians, podiatrist, on-site Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and provide pharmacy, X-ray, and laboratory services. We have a close partnership with a home health care agency that can assist when more care is required and ordered by either our doctors or your own family care physician.

Special Care

We can provide special assistance for those residents who need help with insulin and blood glucose checks, etc., as well supervised showers if needed.

Barber/Beauty Salon

Laurel Park West has its own barber/beauty salon. Residents can have their hair colored, styled, set, trimmed, or cut, and get a permanent wave if they would like. They also can get a rinse and/or shampoo.

Our mission is provide supervised care for your family member in their home. Our caring staff puts emphasis on the highest level of independence possible; however, home care can enhance life for those who need daily living support.

An alternative to home care could be our Adult Day Care and Residential Programs at Laurel Park West.
